Does anyone know of a good supplement to help tone and gain muscle. Something that is good for pre work out!

To gain muscle all you need is adequate protein intake every day as well as a calorie surplus and heavy lifting that incorporates progressive overload. It doesn't matter which protein shake you drink. You don't even need to drink a protein shake, and it doesn't matter when you consume your protein, just that you consume enough.0

What AJ said. Just maintain a good diet with ample protein (carb cycling also tends to work great) and lift heavy consistently0

Actually, the most helpful scientifically proven supplement for lifting is whey protein - usually enjoyed as a shake. That is if your goal is to gain (or tone) muscle. [eg. meta-analysis by Cermak et al. 2012]0

Protein pre-workout would really serve the purpose of keeping a supply of amino-acids in your blood to help prevent muscle breakdown, it's not going to help tone or build muscle during your workout, muscle-protein synthesis doesn't really happen during strength training. You can take a BCAA stack pre-workout as kind of an insurance policy if you want.0

Use Pro7ein. It's got a ton of protein and very low carbs0

Only use truly trusted brands though. So many junk ones out there, most newbies will grab one at Walmart and think those are just as good, if you do any research on these products it will piss you off to see what you are actually getting,
Brands that I use and trust,
Musclefeast, nutrabio, myprotein.com are some great ones. For pre-workout look at myokem brand nitramine great pre-workout another one is. S-line incite, that is the best I have had yet.

The protein supplement won't "tone" your muscle! Your workout does that. The protein just helps your body to recover post workout.0

If you get enough protein via diet, there isn't a need for supplementation. Exercise produces muscular adaptation to the stresses .... not the supplements.0

Premier Protein is cheap but tasty at Costco. I really like Combat Whey - cookies and cream. It is more expensive.0

Yum? I prefer a nice glass of kefir with some PB2 stirred in for flavor.
Then I eat all the meats.0 -
