I have a 12 week old and am trying to lose weight. It's not easy! Have been doing the C25K programme and am on week six. It's hard work but incredibly rewarding. Sometimes I need a big kick up the behind to get me out for a run, though. Is anyone else doing C25K?

Hi. Congrats on your little one and on getting to week 6 c25k. You are doing really well to keep on the programme so far. I finished it last July but it's not so long ago that I don't know how difficult it is to get out and run.

I looked at the schedule for each week and thought I can't do that - but I did and I loved it and am still running 5k 5x a week.

If you feel that you can't do it remember how far you have come and feel proud of yourself.

A failed run does not mean that you have failed - I had a major fail on the very last day. And if you need a pep talk just shout.

P.s. don't overdo it you still have pregnancy hormones playing havoc with your ligaments etc.

    Jus

  • Thank you so much, Jus. I felt like I'd failed when I couldn't do W6D3 and am now redoing both D2 and D3. Now I'm just going to be taking each as it comes and if I have to re-do I just need reminding that it's not a bad thing and I just need to work a little more at it.

I was built for comfort, not for speed.

I just kept telling myself the only way I could fail was if I didn't do anything, if I needed to walk the whole way then so be it I'd run some the next time but I would go round my route lol.

And it's COLD out there lol
  • Last week I did my 20 minutes dodging black ice and came back with ice in my hair! I got home feeling like Superwoman.
I like your thinking. As long as I get out, I've not failed. You're a star, thank you!
