I've been doing this a month. Lost 14 lb. But already have excess skin hanging down on belt line. Will this go away as I lose fat ?

    It's all about genetics.

Is there exercise to do. To reduce this. I started at 237 lb down to 223. Don't want to get skinny fat. With lots of excess skin. If there is something I can be doing.

Lift heavy things! It helps to not only maintain muscle mass, but to fill in the area so the skin appears less saggy.

You can't excercise skin away. It will tighten up based on your genetics, and whether or not it has the ability to do so over a period of time.

Best thing to do is to lose slowly.

I think most of the time most of it will tighten up. It just takes skin longer to adjust. And like lifting said unfortunately, its genetics. I've seen women post baby not have any lose skin, while others (like myself) have the remenence of an elephant like skin roll.

Focus on your weigh loss and give the skin a year. If its particularly bothersome, i can suggest a wonderful plastic surgeon. ;)

Most likely a huge chunk was water weight, since you just started. There's no way you could have created the deficit needed to lose 14lbs of fat, unless you took unhealthy methods to do so.

Hope its not unhealthy. My suggested intake was 1910. Usually eat around 1500 to 1700. Not hungry. Walk around 3 miles 3times a week. Do 150 curls with 10 lb . around 40 pushups.

Your deficit is already built in; there is no need to cut it an additional 200-400 calories. What MFP tells you to eat is what you should be eating before exercise is factored in.

Even if I'm not hungry. I've been using portion by barcode and small apple for example. Not weighing. May be eating more than I think. Need to start weighing. But am loosing weight.

Factors that affect loose skin include how much you have to lose, your youth, and how fast you are losing. Lose more slowly. I have impressive belly wrinkles well tucked in with compression wear.

I'm certainly no expert, but I have heard that losing slowly helps and that drinking lots of water while losing helps with skin elasticity so can help skin shrink up better.

If not, you can always get a tummy tuck. They aren't too expensive. ;)
