FOOD NEMESIS

Hi Everyone,
So I've been on MyfitnessPal for about 5 months now and it's awesome and I've been doing great... mostly. Until 2pm hits and i want my food nemesis. Every few months I develop this food nemesis.
FOOD NEMESIS: any food that you know you shouldn't be eating but every time you walk by it, you just can't seem to help it. Mine lives in the company break room vending machine.
I thought that maybe we could tackle our food Nemesis' together. Write the food that you have trouble denying down and commit to not eating it again..
Goodbye Swiss Creme Sandwiches!

Cake is my food nemesis - any kind of cake. I absolutely cannot resist it when someone offers it to me. Ugh!0

Stop bringing cash and change to work. Just keep your credit card in case. That way you can't buy from the vending machine0

Chocolate Bars! ANy & all, perferably without nuts, love Caramilk, Fruit & Nut, Love it all! So I have started to get Frudgsicles, they are only 90 calories & help to lessen the high calorie chocolate bars.0

That's a good idea... but believe it or not, I've even asked people for change. I figure the only way is to post it on here and gain accountability. It's really the main part where i mess up during the day. I feel like this makes me take accountability for my actions and of course I tried not bringing change and that didn't work. LOL
Thanks for the advice.0 -
I personally don't think it's that much of an issue if you're only having this happen once every few months. Those things won't kill you. I have certain days that i want certain things, and I either exercise harder that day or just have to deal with it when it comes to my alloted calories for the day.0

my food nemesis in the vending machine ? CHEETOS ! never buy them in the store but sometimes, when court is over, I just can't resist the artificial orange food. I can proudly say it has been 6 weeks since i have succumbed, but i know the irresistable compulsion all too well.0

I'm trying to pinpoint one exact thing.. I suppose cookies (can't have them in the house) umm... popcorn, I can't even go to the movies because if I go I HAVE to have a bag of buttered popcorn, so good!
and one thing I know I eat too much of is toast. I love it!0 -
Mine is anything chocolate or sweet or sweet n' salty or salty! Being diabetic the sweet part is not good at all! I have been struggling with this for a long time! My problem is I work in the children's department of a library and on any given day any of those things can be readily available be either from our honor box, a co -worker or from a program we had. i can say my other one was sodas and I have not had one of those of any kind since Thanksgiving day 2010! I finally got that under control and I do not miss them! Now if I can only do that with the rest of it!0

@ Jmafte
It's not one thing every few months... it's a new thing consistently for a few months. It gets to be a problem when I have a packet every day MOST of the week... Baaad. Anyways, today was my last one. For at least until the next one comes!0 -
Oh that will be your last one. Remember everything is a decision! Find a healthy alternative to and keep it nearby when the temptation comes. So many times I have had cravings for things that I know I shouldn't have it really is just mind over matter and sometimes its just buckling down and using good ole willpower. But you can handle it, for me it was beer and I have pretty much given that up now, I rarely have a beer or I limit what beer I will get.
Handle it, just make the decision and commit0 -
Steamed dumplings.
Not 'awful' in and of themselves (if homemade), but I will eat them until I explode. NOMNOMNOMNOM.0 -
I had a food nemesis yesterday but today I've eaten it all and it won't be allowed back in this house! We had a potluck yesterday at church and one lady brought several of those fruit pizzas (the big cookie slathered in cream cheese and covered in fruit) She sent a whole one home with me! I did share with the family but I ate the larger percentage of the thing. It's gone now. I will not be making one of these since they are my kryptonite and suck all will power and strength from my body leaving me helpless in their power!0
