Hello world. I've been trying to lose 10-15 lbs for over two years. I go down a few lbs then right back. My exercising and physical fitness is hit and miss I still work full time and am finding my couch looks awfully good to me at the end of the day. I need to get motivated to stay the course, to get off my couch and to get active on a more regular basis again I love to dance but have not gone for a while. I love to golf and bike and walk but have trouble getting people to do stuff and get tired of doing things alone. Most of my friends just want to go out to eat - I need to move this old girls body again!!!

Hi, that last stone can be hard to lose but it might only take you a few weeks of effort if you log all your food and eat at a deficit. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  • Thank you for the encouragement. I think if I can get back to a regular exercise routine it will come off but I have been procrastinating for so long. I need to get back in a groove. Thank you for your positive thoughts

Try getting a dog or two! I have two dogs that I must walk each morning and afternoon when I get home whether I like to or not. It has made it much easier (mentally) to know that if I do not walk them I will find little surprises for me waiting in the living room. I get up at 5 AM and I work as a preschool teacher in the 2 to 3-year-old classroom! When I get home I'm thoroughly exhausted the first thing I do is get the leashes and take the dogs out once I've done this for 20 minutesI feel free to lay on the couch like a potato for the rest of the night. Hope that helps, I too have about 10 pounds I've tried to lose for the last 10 years and this time I'm serious thanks for you
  • Really good advice. I have to share a funny story but it is true. I have a golden retriever mix female dog. About 2 years ago I was walking her in the neighborhood when a young boy opened the front door of his house and out came his dog that went after my dog. I tried to intercede but my dog was on a leash and other dog wasn't. My girl slipped her collar and starting running for her life. That wasn't the funny part that part was scary. But the woman of the house comes out. She is calling her dog. I am calling mine and two dogs and two women are now running down the sidewalk. Her dog stopped and came back. Mine looked back at me with a look that said if you think I'm stopping you are crazy. She ran all the way home. Well now she is afraid to walk. I get her to the end of the drive and the breaks go on. My next door neighbor thinks its hilarious. So I have a big beautiful dog that is perfectly content to have her world be the house and the backyard. I could probably leave the door wide open and she would not go anywhere. Hahaha. Good luck on your weight loss goals. Teaching little ones every day- you have to be wiped out at end of the day. Stay in touch. Let me know how you are doing with your goals. Best wishes Take care

Cut your carbs!! No flour, limit sugar, no pasta or rice. They now realize we only need carbs for energy to exercise, and we eat way too many that are not healthy. If you drnk coffee, put some real cream in it! Fats are NOT the real problem!!! :-)
  • No pasta. Ugh. :-) I am trying to cut back the carbs and do pretty well with reducing sugar but minimals carbs is tough. Thank you for the good words of advice. I will work a little harder to pass up that bread and pasta.
  • First ... no longer call your body "old girl"!! It's just a number! Ha. Love your dog story!!
