If you follow the IF protocol, do you like to work out during or outside of the fasting period? A book I read on the subject was adamant about working out (usually) in the morning before the first meal of the day (midday).

I have done both. In my case there is no noticeable difference in my performance, but I know people who do have issues. I tend to do the Eat Stop Eat approach when I fast, and that is 24 hours once or twice a week just to be clear. You don't actually state what type of IF you are doing. There is an IF group here on MFP.0

i do both. just cause of my work schedule. i don't care to wake up at the crack of dawn to workout. weekends, i workout at a decent hour in the morning during the fasting period. i have found that some mornings after my workout, i feel spent. i am going to look into BCAAs.0

Personally, I find there are pros and cons to both.0

On weekends I workout early before I eat my first meal. During the week bc of my schedule I workout within my 8 hr eating window so I can eat something before and after my workout....both ways seem to work fine for me0

Depends on the day I'm not getting out of bed any earlier than I have to but I've got at least one day a week were lunch falls and I've only got that hour before I have another class and my long break is in the late afternoon0

Have done IF for 14-16 hours a day, 900 cals a day last summer for 3 mos... Have to say its very effective.. What i did was fast from 7pm-10am eat, eat, workout around 2pm,eat,eat then start fasting at 7pm... I dont suggest this as a all year thing.. Id say 6 mos tops0
