My name is Jennifer. I am 39 years old. I have just recently found out that I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure with high cholesterol. I need to change the way that I eat and get more active to live a better life. I am now ready to do this and think it would be better to do with support from others.

Diabetic type 2 here as well, now in remission due to my weight loss. I am also off blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds because of the weight loss. I wish you all success. Logging is a great tool both for diabetes and weight loss. You are going to get so much better at paying attention to your body's signals. Have you been assigned a dietitian yet?
  • Here is to a new start. Logging is so good to keep track of your food and you can adjust as time goes by. Now that you are ready to do this just do not do everything at once. It will be overwhelming :) Good luck you can add me if you want

    Greetings Jennifer,
My ailments are similar, I made it 46 years before my body yelled at me loud enough to listen.
I had triglycerides in the 2000 for years (told myself it was baseline). Cardiac problems? Theres a pill for that. A few extra pills so I can eat more pie. ect ect.
Mid December I was hospitalized and that was my wake up call. Pancreatitis and I don't even drink. (go figure).
Im now down 40 pounds, my A1C is much improved and I like triglycerides in the 300s. Doc still wants a lil better. LOL
Anywho, this program is awesome, the board is helpful, many people are friendly and informative. Keep at it, its not easy. Lots of support here when you want and need it.
    Good luck!!
