Homework Help: Name a protected industry?

I have to write a paper on an industry, where that country's government implements things like tariffs, quotas, subsidies, etc. to protect domestic companies from the threat of foreign competition within an industry.

I was thinking using the airline industry in the US....does anyone have any other suggestions?

    US health, medical and drug industry. A lot of it is basically a FOR PROFIT venture unlike other countries that provide the services to every citizen.

    The big one the farming industry. The government subsidizes it big time. I actually wrote a paper about it...

    One that contributes to why a lot of people are here is sugar. You know it is subsidized and we have to buy all the sugar produced by the US. Look into why it is in everything, and they effects on the general population by consumption.

    a better research topic would be to provide industries which are not protected by the federal gov
