In the morning, it is an old one.
Des'ree "you gotta be" sort of just moves out into the day at the beginning of a run when the body does not want to go.
Robert Earl Keen's-"Road Goes On Forever"
Van Halen's "Right Here, Right Now"
    Tom Petty-"Running down a dream"
    Eddie Vedder-"Hard Sun"

For me, I run 12 miles+ sometimes. So, I want something that takes my brain somewhere else. I listened to a Lyle Lovett song, LA County, three or four times during a 1/2 marathon because I finally listened to the lyrics and caught what they were about.

    - Eve ("Who's That Girl?")
    - Pink ("Get the Party Started")
    - DJ Kool ("Let Me Clear My Throat")

and I'm not proud but there's a few *****cat Dolls and Brittney Spears tracks on my "Guilty Pleasures" mix:)

Also, check out a track called "Ladylike" by Storm Large...totally rocks. See if you can find the unedited version.

Thanks for starting this thread - always great to get new music ideas for the workout!

    These are all great!

Katy Perry, Brittany Spears, Black Eyed Peas, those are all great too!

Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) - Big & Rich
    My First Kiss -
    Bad Influence - Pink
Forget You (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast
    Firework - Katy Perry
One Week - Bare Naked Ladies
Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5
Girls Lie Too - Terri Clark
    Run-Around - Blues Traveler
    Tik Tok - Ke$ha
    Dynamite - Taio Cruz
How to Save a Life - The Fray

Most of these I selected based on lists I found at www.jog.fm. You go to the website, enter either your mile time or the beats per minute you want and it provides you with a list of songs to match your workout. Lately I've been phasing out anything below 125 beats per minute and adding to the top edge so the list is constantly changing and challenging.

I like all kinds of music and switch it up once and a while, but i love all kinds of hip hop for my work outs...the beats just make me want to keep moving. Black Eyed Peas are one of my favorites to work out to.

The Black Eyed Peas "The E.N.D." it's always playing for me while I workout.
  • I like Christian rock, too. Do you listen to Skillet?

The best kind of music to listen to when your doing cardio workouts is trance, house, electro, techno, or anything with a fast beat, it helps ALOT!
if your listening to a slow song and your trying to run on a treadmill I find it makes you really sluggish and not wanna do it
When you listen to something upbeat and fast, you go to the beat of the song and it makes it fun:)

Another good idea is finding remixes of slower songs that you like, thats fun toooo:D!!

Hope this helped! good luck with finding music

Hardbass Electronica and some metal for cardio mostly.

    - Masters of Hardcore
    - Noisecontrollers
    - Headhunterz

    - Five Finger Death Punch
    - Lamb of God
    - Dethklok

I like to listen to something with a lower bpm for strength training. Hip-hop, Dubstep, slower rock (such as some Alternative songs).

I also go for the Remixs of most songs....like Misery by Maroon 5 done as a techo remix....fast paced and helps me work through being on thetreadmill or eliptical.

So far, these are really good albums I've been able to just play continuously while I'm running (which is nice because then it's not the same playlist over and over, and I'm not worrying about skipping around):

All Day-Girl Talk (Girl Talk's Feed the Animals would probably be really good too)
    The Black Album-Jay-Z
    Safari Disco Club-Yelle
Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do-Major Lazer
    Classics-Ratatat
    Any of the Crookers LPs

I haven't gotten the new Gaga yet, but I've heard it and would imagine that would be good workout music.

Usually I'm good with any kind of remix but lately all I've been listening to is the new Girl Talk album "All Day." It's impossible not to love because it's bound to have some of your favourite songs sampled.

Plus, it's FREE because Girl Talk is awesome like that.

Someone told me about this months ago. I absolutely LOVE this album, and listened to it through my entire 10k. It kept me motivated the whole time..... I didn't know they had another album. I need it stat!

Check out www.jog.fm it will help you find music for your running pace.
  • Here’s my current play list:

    Count on Me- Mat Kearney
    Under Blackened Skies - Fozzy
Different Kind of Crazy - Josh Gracin
Free to be Me - Francisca Batascali (I know I murdered her name)
Up Against the Wall - *NSYNC
Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix - Joey Lawrence (Yeah, I know, Old school)
Rollin in the Deep - Adelle
    Rockin Robin - Jackson 5

Lately I’ve been trying to keep the songs positive and upbeat, but there’s a few for you to check out! Anything Josh Gracin is good - I have a JG mix I made epically for working out - slow songs at the beginning, then the songs speed up according to what workout I’m doing, then they slow back down for the cool down :-D
