Ideas for smoothies?

Options
what are some of your favourite smoothies? I am buying a magic bullet and would love some ideas...

So far I know of frozen strawberries, blueberries, banana and yogurt..

I guess buying a full size tub of Greek yogurt would be a good idea?

What about some additives like flax seeds? Powders only?

Thanks!!!

My smoothie base is the same everyday:

1cup Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla milk
1/2 cup Plain, fat free Greek yogurt

    Then I add frozen fruits
    Strawberry Raspberry
    Strawberry Banana
    Peaches
    Strawberry & Peaches
    Strawberry, Orange (juice) Banana

    ( I don't like blueberries, blah.)

I also add, for a little kick, 1 packet of Crystal Light Energy. They come in Wild Strawberry, Peach Mango and Citrus and Grape. I'm not a fan of the grape.

Have you tried green smoothies? They are a great way to get more veggies into your diet!

    My favorite is
    1cup almond milk (no sugar)
    1banana
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
20 peanuts or a Tbsn of nut butter
    2-4 cups of spinach

I tween it here and there for more or less calories, but it is soo good!

    Good luck on your creations!

I pack my vitamix with the following:

    8 cups of spinach
    1/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
    1/4 cup frozen mango chunks
    4 large frozen strawberries
    5 dates
    1/2 frozen banana
    Whey vanilla protein powder
    Tsp coconut oil
    1/2 cup water

After blended stir in a tsp of chia seeds to each cup and let them bloat.
This makes 4 hefty cups of good-balanced-nutrition at about 60 cals a cup.
You can freeze them for frozen snacks.
(You can't taste the spinach. The pineapple sweetens it most.)

Mine really vary according to my mood.

    Fruit Juice Base

1/2c OJ, Mango, Apple, or other juice of my choice that day
    4 or so ice cubes
    2c Kale
1c Frozen Fruit (depends on my mood, the juice, availability, etc)
    1 scoop protein powder
    1 frozen yogurt pot

    Variations...

    * If I'm wanting more liquid, I'll skip the ice cubes and add about 1/2 c carrot juice
    * Out of kale, I'll throw in a heaping spoonful of ground flax or hemp seed
    * Cucumber can also be good if I'm short or kale - usually I'd stick in 1/4-1/2 depending on my mood that day

    ___

    Milk Based

1c your choice of milk (cow, almond, soy, or whatever else people are drinking these days)
    4 or so ice cubes
    1 scoop protein powder

    From there...

    * Coffee Flavoured: a spoon full of instant coffee. Occasionally I'll throw in a dash of cinnamon, some vanilla, cocoa powder or a spoonful of peanut butter/PB2 depending on my mood that day

    * Frozen banana: Goes with just about anything. Banana, peanut butter and some berries is amazing.

    * 1c Fruit - just about anything goes here. really boils down to personal taste

    * I prefer not to stick greens in a milk based one. Ground flax, hemp, oatmeal can all make yummy additions at times though.

I always just mix whatever fruits sound good lol. Usually strawberries and bananas for sure. I also love mango. Plus milk and yogurt. I've also done pineapple, banana, and coconut milk. Yum! Tastes like paradise lol
