MFP is actually pretty high in their allowence of sodium. It should be about 1500 mgs of sodium a day. I, myself, cant get below 2500 mgs, so I usually have a ton of water every day to counter the higher sodium!

Here's a good link. It talks about the importance or sodium for the body to properly function as well as the dangers of too much.

    Hope this helps!

I don't have any links for information, but from what I have heard, Sodium can make you retain water, which will affect your scale weight, and If you have high blood pressure, you should limit your sodium, due to the fact that it will raise your blood pressure.

I'm usually lucky to keep my sodium below 3000, but I do drink a lot of water, and my blood pressure is normal, so I don't worry too much about it.
