Breastfeeding and Weight Loss (STOPPING)

so, I'm going to be weening my daughter soon and will be stopping breastfeeding altogether. She's turning one. I have been consistently losing 1-2 pounds a week since she was born (for a total of about 65 pounds). I am at my pre-pregnancy weight now but want to lose another 15 pounds to reach my ultimate goal. Has anyone else noticed a change in their progress when they stopped breastfeeding? Did you lower your calories? I'm eating 1600 calories a day and haven't really ever allowed more calories for milk production, just stuck with 1600 and it has worked for me. I'm hoping I don't need to go down to 1300 or something once I stop feeding her? MFP has me set at 1300 before exercise and I usually burn about 700 a day and am then allowed 2000 but never eat more than about 1600...works for me.

Any thoughts? I don't think my calories affect my milk supply much, in other words, I don't think I'm actually burning 300-500 calories from producing milk from her (like some experts say breastfeeding does), b/c I can eat 1300 calories and still lose the same weight, or eat 1800 and NOT lose weight, so.....I don't know if I'm even making sense.

I weaned my 14 month old two weeks ago but I was adding in extra 300 calories a day for him that I now took away. I will say that when I weaned my other two boys I did for sure notice that I gained weight after weaning because I didn't adjust my eating and I assume was burning less calories. Not what you want to hear, i know!

I would keep the same and see what happens. Some ladies do lose weight after weaning so you never know for sure what your body is going to do. Good luck!
