Hip thrusts. Likely better than squats.

Butt Bible on YouTube, I'm currently doing it and can see some small but encouraging results 3 weeks in (its a 6-week program).

Hip thrusts, specifically barbell hip thrusts, activate your glutes more than squats. Look up Bret Contreras. He is known as the "glute guy" and wrote a book called Strong Curves, which has four different workout programs in it--beginner's full body weight training, advanced full body weight training, full body bodyweight only, and lower body only weight training. If you google "strong curves pdf" you can get a file of the programs direct from his website.

Hip bridges either single leg or both. Add a weight plate or resistance bands or add a pause at the top with a concentrated flex. Great excercise for increased muscle and stamina for cycling.

Yup. See mine? The only thing I do in addition is I prefer running hills or various wobbly surfaces.

Thank you for this! This is exactly what I am looking for. I just posted a question regarding butt building.

I usually do glute kickbacks and standing glute presses with resistance bands. From experience, the standing glute presses are more effective than the kickbacks if you only want to do one of them.
