I am a beginner at running also! I have been using the C25K trainer to help with my running. I find that when I "think" I need more food/snacks (which I don't ) I drink more water, it seems to help fill me up. I have been drinking around 150oz a day.

Try some healthy whole grains mixed with cooked greens, the carbs will boost your energy and digest slowly, the greens are low cal but filling  Ex: Quinoa & Braised Kale or Brown Rice & Zucchini.

The C25K program really helped me get started running as well! I am a big snacker so I tend to reach for water and gum to keep my mouth occupied ;)

Go get a good protein/meal replacement shake. There are some brands that offer great tasting ones, and are low in carbs, sugars, and fats.
