Last year like many I weighed in and said enough.

Like many, I did not really revisit my resolution, until March when spring and summer was upon me. I then decided it was time for a change.

March Weight 310 lbs
Daily mile walks. Thats it. No change in diet. No 'real' exercise.


Decent progress for not really trying then my back goes out. I miss two days of work. I get scared. Time for another change

June Weight 290
I make 2 changes. I add a 4 times a week low impact workout ( I used HasFit low impact 20 on youtube). Also I cut my soda use by 2/3rds (we are talking one 2 liter a day of cokes down to one 20 oz ). Instead of cokes I drink water.

August Weight 270
low impact workout is now 5 times a week. My daily walk now averages miles. I go to the dog park afterward for an hour an get a few more steps in. I buy 10lb weights for my workout. I join My Fitness Pal and get to counting.

From the end of August to December I continue my calorie counting and diet. this was when the real diet plan changes were made. I switched to almond milk, bought sugar substitutes to reduce coffee time calories. Egg whites. Pico de gallo was my bread. I began eating more frequently and especially after workouts. fat free yogurt with banana berries and oats and granola is now my staple breakfast. Fish is incorporated into my diet. Pizzas are only once a week and eating fast food only consists of burrito bowls and cheat days. Water Water Water. Walk walk walk. Im looking forward to my workouts now. I up my weights to 15 lb.


December 240

I go into Christmas at my goal weight. I enjoy the spread, but in moderation. Which is something I am thinking about when I eat now out of habit. I am excited. I get a fitbit for Christmas.

Today I weighed in Monday at 225.

The first time I have seen that number in 10 years. I can do more pushups and situps now than I could in high school or college. I have set and met 5 goals for myself. . On to 210, 205, and beyond.


I am calling it the Benjamin Button diet.
