Need your help on BMR for Teachers!

At the minute I am a housewife/Mam/little bit of studying for starting my PGCE in September so I have my BMR as light activity and I am losing nicely, about 2lbs a week.
I have a weeks works experience in a school all next week and it is my first real test of if I can keep losing while working! I was just wondering what the base activity level for a teacher is? Should I leave it as light or move it up or down? I don't want my food intake to add to my decrease in exercise I am having to take and end up gaining!

I would change it. Im a Stay at home mom now but I used to be a teacher. You rarely get to sit. The younger the age group the more you move around.0

I would keep it at the same level. Most of the time you are sitting or standing, or making your way around the classroom from time to time. You may feel exhausted from dealing with the kids, but physically it's not demaning. Good luck! Stay out of the break room because there are always baked goodies laying around.0

My husband is a 3rd grade teacher and is rarely ever sitting down. I agree with the person who said it depends on the age group. The younger the kids, the more active you will be.0

I am a teacher I have mine set to moderately active, I believe. My reasons for this- I walk to and from work each day- 15 minutes each way, I walk up and down 4 flights of stairs at school several times a day, and I mostly work with 2-3 year olds, so I am constantly picking them up, changing their nappies, holding them, etc. I also do yoga with 3 4 and 5 year olds once a week.
It really depends what you will be doing at school. If it is just a week... You could probably get away with just leaving it as lightly active- and perhaps go by how you feel. ıf it is really tiring and you move around a lot, change it.0 -

I don't think I'd change it for just one week. Chalk the activity up to extra burn and carry on.0

I keep mine at lightly active. i teach high school and the kids are very unpredicable so some days i will be running around class all day, others i'll be just sat or stood. so i keep it always at lightly to even it out i guess. i feel more mentally tired at the end of the day rather than psycially.

Former educator here, now a stay-at-home dad. I think lightly active is the appropriate activity level for a teacher, but it really does depend. If you find yourself being a lot more active than you were at home, you should bump up the activity level to moderate.
For what it's worth, I was teaching at the middle and high school level. It also depends on what you're teaching, and how - if you're having to haul your gear across campus to multiple locations, that's a bit more activity.0
