Hi there, i've been using MFP for a while and used to go by the calories given on MFP for exercise done, but recently i have bought a garmin and i now notice that the calories burnt according to the garmin are a lot less than MFP say, for example today i did a bit of running, my garmin says 241 cals burnt but MFP say 331! which would be more realistic to use? the garmin is set up with my correct weight/height/age etc, just a bit confused as 100 cal difference on a short run is quite a bit.

MPF is notorious for overestimating calories burned. I have no experience with the accuracy of a Garmin. There are really good calculators out there on the net for number of calories burnt running. For me its about 95 per mile.0

Honestly it's always safer to go with the lower number if you're eating them back.0
