Do you find it easier to workout in the morning or evening? Any benefits to either?

I like going after work, it's a great stress reliever from the day. And, because I'd rather take a fork in the eye than get up that early. :) It doesn't really matter what time of day you go, as long as you go and do it.
  • Thanks a lot! I usually do it after work. I was wondering if the morning gave you like a jump start

I do it after work too, and I worked afternoons so I am there sometimes at 1am. I like it as a stress reliever as well and surprising it helps me go to bed at a decent time.

No, there isn't a meaningful difference as far as when is better. If you're more apt to push yourself harder one time that the other, then that's better, but "better" a function of your intensity, not the time off day.

Personally, morning workouts are better for me.

I go before work because I work evening shift. I like that because I'm fresh for the workout. I walk at least 8mi a day at work, up & down ramps, moving equipment, etc. So its essential that I get my protein intake before work to start my recovery or its hard to be productive for the 8hr at work lol. But its all really personal preference.
  • Thank you for all your responses. I guess it doesnt matter when only that you get it done. I'll continue doing it at night

It depends on the season. This time of the year I do most of my workouts after work. In the summer when the days are longer I split it up and do some before work and some after.

I like to get it out of the way in the morning but I can only do that on the weekends because I work through out the week.
