So, I am running my first 5k a week from this coming sunday or 12 days from now. What should I run the week before and how much? I can't really find anything to help me the week before a race!

Thanks!

I would probably just keep working on your stamina.
The weather is changing and you want to be prepared.
Stay healthy and well hydrated and well rested.
    That is all I have...lol.
So proud of you for doing the 5K.
My first is in Sept. and I am pretty excited.
Take pics and let us know how it goes!!

If you don't have any issues, lingering aches and pains... I'd just keep running your normal routine. Maybe take a day off beforehand just to rest.

A 5K is a relatively short race which shouldn't impact your life in any great way (it's not the Boston Marathon). It shouldn't need any significant recovery either. Most runners do not taper for 5K runs.

    Good Luck with the race!

That depends on how much running you've done in preparation over the last couple of months and what the furthest distance you've gone up to now.

Three short easy runs should see you fine, maybe 3k max just to keep momentum. Give yourself 2 or 3 days off before race day to make sure you're well rested. You'll find that on race day the adrenalin will get you to the finish.

    Good luck!
