Elliptical vs. treadmill (or any other indoor suggestions)

So I have a treadmill that I use but it has started slipping so I thought about getting an elliptical. What indoor exercise equipment is the best?

It depends on your needs and abilities.
I personally prefer the low impact but high results with the elliptical. It is much better on your joints verses running on a treadmill. But I think it's more preference too. If I had a choice, I'd totally get the elliptical.

If I were to buy one cardio machine, I'd get a rower.

Get which ever one you are likely to actually use.....not just which one would be BEST to get. Having said that, I have a treadmill that I use and a bike that I never use. I'm dying to trade the bike in for a rower. Rowing is the best bang for your buck when it comes to cardio in my opinion. You get a great upper body workout too.

Rower or bike. You can walk or run outside year-round. The other two give you options in case you hurt yourself. I prefer the rower, but the bike is the most rehab-friendly for most injuries (you don't need to use your hands).

I love my elliptical and use it often.

I also second the rowing machine but I can't use it as often - it kicks my @ss.

I really like my bike. Doesn't take up as much space as a treadmill or elliptical.
