Kick Start the Process?

So I am looking to “kick start” my routine. I have read many times that you should eat back your exercise calories in order to lose the most amount of weight, and I understand how this would works... my question is can I “kick start” my weight loss process by just eating the 1200 a day and not eating back all of my exercise calories? My exercises calories will only be about 300-600 a day. I know at that at some point my body will plateau I just am trying to get a “kick start” if you will… so I can start seeing some results. I know there is no “quick fix” and that’s not what I am looking for by the way. I am just looking to get results
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions MFP’s :)

I'll probably get crap for it, but I think it's okay. I don't regularly eat my exercise calories.

I definitely think that's ok to do for about 5 days....no more than 7 I would suggest. That should be the kickstart you need and then you can add the extra after a week to fuel your muscles and keep your metabolism revved up. I've also read that after a few weeks, you may want to add or sutract 200 or so calories every now and again to keep your body in check as far as mixing up your calorie intake........nothing extreme of course. Good luck!

Your body needs 1200 calories just to function properly, I would really try and not go under 1100 net... it's not going to pay off in the long run. If you want to do this the right way and have the weight loss stick when you go back to eating more, then eat back your exercise calories.

I just started and I'm trying NOT to eat my exercise calories...although I don't really have time to exercise anyway, but I burn calories breastfeeding. I personally don't see anything wrong with it if it works for you.

I don't know the scientific answer, but on days I work out I try to make sure I at least get the 1200 to 1300 calorie net. Days I don't work out, I stick with my regular goal of 1440. The 2 lb/week weight loss calorie goal would be about 1200 for me, so I figure that I'm in a good zone.

I don't think there would be a problem if you are planning on sticking with a minimum net of 1200.

Thanks guys- I was thinking of doing 5 days not eating all of them and then two days eating them- then going back to 5 days not and 2 days eating them...
I am trying to do this the healthy way- just wanting to see some results to keep my tushy motivated ;-D

Yeah- weekend are the WORST for me- it does not help that everyone around me can eat anything they want without gaining weight... in addition to my BF not being the most supportive with my weight loss and transformation process

1 would eat 1/2 back for a kick start..eat 1400 burn 400..only do this for a short while though..your body will burn out and stall.
