Please pray...

I have a co-worker that is quite a bit stressed today. She just got word that her daughter in law DID NOT pass her stress test. The baby she is carrying isn't moving much. The C-Section is scheduled for over a week away but they may have to take the baby before then.
I really don't know what a stress test is or what it means, I had very easy pregnancies and never had to take that test. But pleas pray for the baby and mother and that my co-worker is able to keep herself together during this time. I do know how important this grandbaby is to her.
Thanks!

Stress test measures the heart rate of the baby after it's been given minor stress (like some kind of stimuli or mother exercising). It's a fairly accurate way to tell if the baby is doing okay. Since she didn't "pass" the best option is to take it a bit early. But a week before planned is not too bad. Reassure your co-worker that it's not too horrible news, things will probably be fine. At least we live in a day where they can tell that something is going on and do something about it, rather than wait and find out too late! (I'm in the middle of a pregnancy where there have been some warning signs, and I am soooo glad for all the medical intervention available!)
Hugs to you and your co-worker! My thoughts with you both!0 -

I will certainly send prayers.
My last pregnancy was filled with complications from week 5 on. I wasn't able to have stress tests but had Non Stress Tests where they just put a monitor around my belly to see how many times in 30 - 60 minutes the baby would move.
I hope that all goes well. Even with surgeries, eclampsya, etc my son is a normal healthy precocious 5 year old who exhibits no problems from the pregnancy.0 -
