I purchased my fitbit charge HR. Now when using it do I just let the fitbit sync my calories or should I put in my activity as well? I did the elliptical yesterday but was unsure how to do this. Please give suggestions.

Hi!, I just let fitbit do its thing, or else in mfp the cals get adjusted then I tend to eat them. If I want my kudos, I log my ex as weight lifting by making a new weight lifting activity. If there is an easier way, please let me know0

I just got a charge HR too ( been on MFP for years )...Ive found the easiest way of monitoring stats/ logging is this combo....
log food in MFP, use the activity button on your HR to start/stop/log your workouts, and to get your kudos from friends about your workout just type up the message as a post instead of logging it in exercise eg. "burned 100 calories doing 30 minutes of whatever-workout" .
I prefer to log activities in Fitbit and rename them so I can get more details about each
That way ppl can comment on your exercise as it shows the same in posts, fitbit will put the daily adjustment into your exercise spot ( so no chance of double ups), and Fitbit website gives a way better view of your weekly/monthly workout progress.
Feel free to add me if you'd like

You don't have to log it here but you can if you want to. When you log it put the correct start time, duration, and number of calories in the entry and then it will not count the fitbit generated calories during that time period. Then there is no double counting of calories.
If you don't enter it here it just takes the fitbit synched calories. So, the end result in displayed number of calories burned is the same either way.0 -
How are you liking it? I want to get the Fitbit hr to calculate my workout and daily activity without any kudos...just a solid number so I know what I get to eat. Has it been working for you?0

I've had mine about a month, and it works well for me. It collects my actual calories burned from day to day activities. And for workouts, It allows me to easily track calories burned.
I have found it just as accurate as the readouts from the cardio machines.
You do have to wear it properly, high on the arm.0 -
I am only getting a step count reading on MFP, not the workout that I logged on Fitbit. ANy suggestions?0

@codysmom99 MFP only sends the activity you log on it to Fitbit, it doesn't bring the activity logs over from the Fitbit website.0
