I think my son made about 100 miles one time before finally settling down and going to sleep on a long road trip.

    My mom and dad were not parents to tolerate fits. You know how dads will say "Don't make me stop this car." My dad actually did that. He only had to do it once.

    My son was colicky - so it wasn't a fit - but he cried for an entire 10 hour car ride when he was a month old. My hubby traveled for work and was gone for a 3 week stint, my in-laws were on a 2 week Panama Canal cruise and my parents were on vacation about 10 hrs away. Living on 5 hours sleep in the previous week with a 3 1/2 year old who needed attention too, I made the executive decision that we were crashing my parents' lake house because I was about to lose my damn mind and he voiced his displeasure the entire way there and the entire way back.
