Running NSV!

I have been doing the Couch to 5k program for 3.5 weeks now - 2.5 of those weeks I have been SICK (awful chest cold) but I have still managed to do 3 days per week and finish the intervals. Because of that, I stuck with the Week 1 intervals for 3 weeks. This last weekend I started week 2 and managed to finish even though I am still coughing.

While we were running it occurred to me that the way my mind works that I would be more successful with shorter walking intervals instead of psyching myself up for longer running intervals every week.

So this morning I did 60 sec walk/60 sec run - and ended up going a half mile further in only two minutes longer than my run on Sunday!!! I ended up running 25% longer this way, too!

I am so proud of myself and I can't wait to get back out there again!!

I am just as proud that I figured out how to work with my brain (and it's tendency to be LAZY) to achieve more

edit: when I started this I couldn't run to the end of the block if someone was chasing me - so this is pretty huge! LOL

Awesome, I started last Friday the C5K, and impressed myself too, I however, did the 5min warm up, the the 90run/2minfast walk the 1st day, and upped it up :same warm up, but switched 2min run, 90sec fast walk.

Also the days I don't run, I cycle. do working on a biathlon, lol
