My calorie intake is 1200-1300 a day. Some day's i find it hard to eat and am under. Will i still lose weight if i am under or do i have to eat the calorie intake?

It's advisable to eat at least 1200 calories to get all your nutritional needs met. Looking at your diary, you balance it out by going over on some days. You only have a partial day logged on some, why is this?0

Yes you can go under. MFP will not start blinking or honking a horn at you if you go under your calories on certain days..
Most will say that 1200 - 1300 is quite low and have a hard time not going over it. I see it as a plus as you are eating less..

But do try to stay in the healthy range when trying to lose!0 -
MFP only freaks out if you're under 1000 calories.0

I usually get a warning about how it is not healthy for a female to consume less than 1200 calories when I go under. I guess I got too busy yesterday and didn't realize that I had only taken in 900 calories. That included a little fun size butterfinger heart at work. I will be more careful to at least take in 1200 calories today.0

It seems like you have a misconception about the relationship between food and weight. Eating less results in weight loss. But you should be careful about eating too little because doing so can do you harm.0

By eating less than 1200 calories it would be very difficult to get your required nutrition (Fat, Protein, vitamins and minerals) even at 1200 cals there is very little wiggle room for non-nutrient dense foods.0

I looked at your diary (about a week and half) and you seem to eating right at your goal most days... it looks like Saturday you did not log your whole day)... It seems that you getting plenty of nutrition..
My question is are you wanting to start cutting your "plan"? If so, the only thing that will happen is MFP plan will alert you if you go UNDER 1000 calories for the day with a message "You are not eating enough" and recommends that you "check your diary" through out the day and make sure you are getting enough nutrition..
This does not mean that you are doing something wrong (you are just in a further deficit) for the day/days that you go under 1000. If you exercise a lot you may feel you need additional nutrition on those days.. (the days I work out I make sure I eat enough especially in order to work out the next day).
It looks like you got this... Not sure of this goal in mind here..0 -
Your body needs fuel to operate correctly and healthily. Food is not the enemy in weight loss, too much food is. Eating too little food can harm your body. Stick to at least 1200 calories a day. If you are exercising you will need to eat more.
Your body adjusts to your habits. Try eating a little more each day and your body will get used to it. If you have or ever had an ED please work with a professional.0 -
You have to start with logging accurately to even begin to determine how much you are actually eating.0

I didn't log in Saturday because i was out all day and went for a bday meal =/
The rest of the days are exact.0 -
Think of your calories on a weekly basis versus daily for a moment. If you go under on a Monday, but you go out for a birthday on Saturday and didn't log, there is a chance you went over on Saturday. So I think it's fine to be a little under and I don't force myself to eat more if I went over another day. (Though 99.9% of the time I eat all the calories I get!!) +0

log every day, even cheat days. its the ONLY way to be accurate
im given 1200 too, and its NOTHING. i exercise not only for health reasons, but to earn back calories so i can eat more- and its not like i have a huge appetite. I can EASILY be happy with 2000 cals/day. if you are not hungry, its possible your logging is not as accurate as you think it is (maybe it is but if youre not logging everything and have partial days as another poster said, it makes me think youre not terribly accurate when you do log) - you're numbers seem AWFULLY even and consistent. not saying its not possible (some people are ocd about stuff like that) but i know for me, and most of my friends who are accurate weighers, weighing my food via a food scale, the numbers are different all the time. maybe in a range, but different.
