AHHH!!! I'm only 1 week in to this but I'm completely stressing myself out. This is only my 587th time trying to lose weight and get healthy. Everytime I do the same thing...I go balls to the wall change everything, cut out everything I love and force myself to eat things I hate. It lasts a very short time and I give up. This time I decided I was going to ease myself in to it. I've already made several changes. Today marks 1 week of no cokes or sugary drinks, Water only! I've also started bringing my lunch to work rather than eating fast food everyday. I've added more fruits and less snacks to my diet. But when I look at MFP App I just feel like I'm failing. Taking in too many carbs, too much fat content, not enough protein, and so on and so on. I obviously don't know what i'm doing! AHHH!!! Sorry and thank you, end rant!

Relax Life change takes more then a week ! Small changes are a start and it takes time to see and feel the difference .

I really don't cut out anything. It's more about portion control and making sure I'm in a calorie deficit at the end of the day. I'm really not willing to never eat my favorite foods again. That is just not sustainable for anyone. Good luck.0

Sounds like you're on the right track this time - stop beating yourself up over it! Learning to make changes in your lifestyle takes time, and some trial and error. Use MFP to your advantage, think of it as an educational tool - you've already started doing that by realizing you need to find ways to hit your macro targets as well as your calorie goal. Good job!
So at the end of the day, week, over the months, look back over your diary and see where you did well and where you can make improvements. When planning out meals and snacks and you have several choices, log each one and see which ones give you the best bang for your buck - good protein, etc - and then make your choice.
And on days where you might be over on cals or under on protein, just log it and move on, knowing you can make better choices tomorrow and the day after that and for the rest of your life! You want to be in this for life, right? Every day is not going to be perfect! But take one day at a time, and like I said, learn as you go. Celebrate your victories, learn from the mistakes, and just keep going. You can do this! It's totally worth it.0 -
Ranting is ok and hopefully deep down in side you have a question that might get answered here..
First, did you decide to make a new lifestyle change? It sounds like you have.. but you have to work your plan to get to your goal. So in order to create a new "habit" you need to give this about 4 weeks..
Once you start logging accurately (food and exercise diary) this will become second nature.. But you cant stop and go, stop and go. This will just lead to yo-yoing and that is not good for you.
It take discipline and it really is shifting your mind to think differently and of course the actions behind the thoughts have to be different...
this works if you work it!
Sounds like you know and want to do it.. Just need some encouragement and that is quite okay!0 -
Hey Stevie!! I am the same way as you. I can't make too many changes all at once or worry about too many things at the same time or I quit. So, I only worry about my calorie intake right now. I have been doing this for about 3 months and have been very successfull in my weight loss. I am just now getting to a place where I think I can start focusing on my carbs, protein, fat, etc. I may only focus on one of them at a time. I have been trying to make sure that I am getting plenty of protein because they say it keeps you feeling full. I started exercising only about a month ago, because I knew if I started it at the same time as beginning MFP I would get overwhelmed and quit. I hope that you can find what works for you.0
