Good job. Ice cream is my weakness. Especially the pure pure form. Yummmy.

Yup, I do this too. I find I do better if I limit the days I eat sugar. I tend to eat healthier, and my cravings for sugar are greatly reduced when I just avoid it during the week. Although I don't call it my "cheat day," since I still work to keep it within my calorie goals. It's my "sugar day." :# That being said, I'm making cream cheese sugar cookies right now!

I too have noticed if I don't eat lots of " un natural" sugar I crave it. Our bodies know.
  • Every Friday while I was losing, only if I lost weight. Now, it's as long as I haven't gained.

Maybe OP gets a 'hall pass' to have a scoop of ice cream? Congrats on cheating! Hopefully there's a way you incorporate ice cream into whichever day you want it in the future?

I think at some point you have to have a cheat day once in awhile or you'll A) go crazy and B) end up binging and have a hard time getting back on track.

Not if you can just develop a mindset that eating food is not 'cheating' at all. Work on staying under your calories and fitting what you enjoy into that day/week.

I get a cheat hour. From the time I deposit my check on Friday until I get on the train to visit my parents. I always get a handful of licorice allsorts, chips and guacamole, and a margarita. Sometimes it varies but in that one hour I get carte blanche.

Feb has been cheat month! But its still amounting to 2 steps forward and 1 step back. So I'm ok with that.

I cheat too. I'm doing Atkins, so low carb. Once a week I enjoy a half-sweet mocha..yum (ton of carbs from the milk and chocolate)! It doesn't derail me and I sooo enjoy it

An aerobic instructor once told me... instead of a cheat day, just have a cheat meal... which kinda made since to me because if we cheat all day long eating whatever we want chances are the weight we lost for the week will meet up with us again in days to come. So have a cheat meal and balance it out by eating healthier the rest of the day. just trying to help
  • I used to have cheats days, but I'm seriously trying to avoid cheat days because my cheat days end up being full blown binges or cheat weeks and yeah...once I start I can't stop haha! I find it easier to avoid trigger foods altogether to be honest (but still have them very occasionally).
