Still fighting with this idea
Dr wants me to eat 1- 4 oz portion of protein and 1 cup of vegetables 3 times a day
no grains, no starches, no sodas, I can substitute 1/2 cup fruit for 1 cup of vegetables once a day

Add some fat in there and you'll be ketogenic

Did your doctor tell you why to do this?

Is this recommendation from your doctor considered a "medical weight loss" program? If so, then I can see why no sugary sodas, no starches/carbs like pasta, potatoes.

I am curious what is the 1 - 4 oz of protein he recommended?

I think most MFP members are already eating a good amount of protein, veggies, fruits and a moderate amount of carbs..

We sort of don't eliminate all things and we can have most foods in in moderation this includes the occasional pizza, cookie, pie and cake... We just keep it within our macros IIFYM..

I think the calorie range on this would be 800-1200 calories
