Hi back fat is an area I struggle with...A LOT. :( I know I'm not the only one either.
I'm hoping some ladies could post before/after pics of their backs. I'm sure it could motivate a lot of us! :-)

Could you also add:
-your height
-before weight and after weight
-before bf% and after bf%
-what exercises you did during your transformation

I know I am not a lady but the truth is that there really is no way to target specific areas of fat. Keep up the hard work and your body will release all over slowly. Some people notice certain areas first and last but the truth is our bodies control this and for all of the reading I have done countless hours I have never once found any remedy for targeting certain body parts.

Thanks for the answer. :) I am aware of that sadly.

Maybe you could look back in pics of yourself and determine at what weight the back fat came into play? Everyone's body will be different anyhow.

I'm struggling with this same sort of thing. I don't have a before picture handy but this is my back currently. I'm 5'5.5, 135 lbs, ~22%ish BF. I'm pretty happy with my upper body and even my legs but this muffin top in the back just won't quit!

ETA: my SW was 183. BF% 36.6. I mix running in with a progressive strength routine.

Wow you look good! I don't see much back fat in that picture. I honestly just see lovehandles but I think that's because your shorts are tight on your hips, causing the effect to squish up your fat. Seriously if you took a picture in loose fitting bottoms, I don't think there would be an issue. 22 BF% is great!

    5'5"
    161 to 121
Back fat was almost gone at 130.
I don't keep track of body fat %.
The only exercise I do is running.

I've always struggled with back fat and a muffin top, and the only thing that has ever worked for me is plain old weight loss.

Back fat is my struggle too. I just lost 10 pounds, 138 to 128 and no change, but even when I was down to 119 pounds 5 years ago ( before I hit the big 4-0!) I still had back fat. I call them my back boobs. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
  • I believe it would be necessary to factor in age with this question which would then account for the elasticity of our skin. As someone who has lost Half my body weight 3 times & a member of the lifetime yo-yo club, I don't think my back fat issue will ever resolve! *sigh*

Awww. :/ Well I'm not worried about elasticity because I'm only 19 and I don't have that much to lose (like 25 more pounds at the very most). But have you tried heavy lifting? Lots of ladies on here have had amazing results with it. There are some ladies in their 50's that look better than me!

It will vary for everyone. I didn't start taking back photo's until well into my process of losing weight. However, I'm sure it's greatly improved.

Here are a few before & afters that I have though:

Nope, not giving you pictures. My transformation is intended to improve health outcomes and to gain mobility. Which I have achieved by the way.

    5'4"
    Was 275lbs now
I think BF is about 40%
I generally prefer aerobic and flexibility activity because they make me happy.

Chiseled features include feeling my ribs, collarbone, and shoulder bones. Sometimes I run my hands over my ribs just for the fun of it.

There is still plenty of excess skin and fat around the belly, butt, thighs, breasts, back, and upper arms in descending order of surplus. The butt seems to be leaving next.

Great upper body definition - the lats are incredible.

I still have a ton of it at about 26% body fat. I don't think it will go away until about 22%. It is probably my least favorite feature of my body (that and upper arm fat UGH!)

    I feel your pain!
