I know it is recommended that we eat back the calories burned, but i exercise right before bed. Would it be safe to eat the calories back or would I have to change my exercise schedule?

Search for people who eat back calories. Some don't others do. As I read it, I would eat back part of it during the day that you exercise. See what happens. If the scale likes it, keep doing it. Otherwise, change it up to see what happens.

I exercise late too and I NEVER eat back the calories I burned.

When you know you'll be exercising, try to add in some cals throughout the day. Then, after your workout, a good snack is fine, regardless of what time it is. Just make sure it's a healthy snack. You won't turn into a pumpking by eating after 8 pm. I typically workout at 9 or 10 and almost always have a snack afterwards - hasn't hurt one bit.

I don't eat all my calories back every day.. I exercise after work and sometimes burn off most of what I'd already consumed - not going to eat a full 1,700 calories at night right? So I have a healthy if not slightly larger dinner than I otherwise would and usually have a snack before bed...

The real thing about eating calories back is starvation mode. If you keep your body out of that danger zone then you are going to be fine. The problem is knowing "where" that zone lies for you. Every person appears to be different, but most women are somewhere around 1,200 and most men are somewhere around 1,600
(I'm 1450 roughly) - so If I come in at 1500 for the day... SWEET! lol

The other thing is the zig zag effect you'll see quite a bit on here... Go low one day - eat a little extra the next (obviously not over doing it) a lot of people really feel like it is good for them and there is *some* medical evidence to suggest it keeps your body "confused" and out of the starvation zone...
(I'm not a doctor so please know that I've done my best to research answers and speak to my own physician whenever possible, but I cannot begin to replace a real one <grin>)

    That help any at all?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!!! I am seriously looking to stay motivated but that was one question I had... I've always been told to not eat anything after about 8 pm so I just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks again!

I've read mixed views on the topic and I've read extensively on the topic. So what I do, since the body does a lot of repairing itself while we sleep. I eat a protein drink or a piece of meat.

    Hey it works for me.
