i had my gall bladder out on July 4. Since then, it seems like no matter what I do, I can't lose weight. I have gained almost 15 lbs since then, I have no energy......might have something to do with working full time and having 3 very involved children....but before my surgery, I would be up at 4:30 to get my exercise in for the day. I'm so confused on what diet to follow. Has anybody had anything resembling a situation like this. I hate the way I look and feel.

Assuming you are human being, eat at a calorie deficit, lose weight.

    No 'Diet' is needed.

Don't concern yourself with anything else. Gallbladders, children, exercise, meal timing, time you roll out of bed, full moons, rainbow unicorn urine do not effect weight loss, a calorie deficit does.

Have you talked to your doctor about getting your iron tested? Do you log all your calories? The beauty about counting calories is that you can follow whatever diet you want, as long as you stay within your calorie goals you *should* lose weight :)
  • I am not looking for a miracle, quick fix so I can do without the sarcasm. What I am asking is has anyone had any similar experiences after having their gall bladder out?

Please only comment if you have something useful to offer. Thank you.

    No.

I am also missing my gallbladder removed 2004. It has had no effect on weight loss. Having no gallbladder will not effect weight loss if you are eating at a calorie deficit.

Eat at a calorie deficit, lose weight.

I had my gall bladder out a number of years ago. I had lost almost 50 pounds and then required the surgery. It was hard to get back on track after but it wasn't because the gall bladder removal did anything to me, it was because I lost my momentum and wasn't focused. Then I had a baby and I really lost momentum!

I am now the same age as you and when I'm focused I lose just fine. You don't have your diary public but the obvious first question is, are you logging and are you certain it's accurate? I have read cases where people gained a little after the surgery but it is most likely that they were eating more than they realized. No snark is intended in this post whatsoever! You just need to rule out the obvious before you can look at other issues.
