Loosing weight & lifting

i am currently 188lbs 5'6, and have been dieting and exercising for the past month. When I started I was 203lbs and eating what I wanted. My goal weight is prob 165lbs and want to get there soon. My question is should I just do cardio and skip the weights until I meet my goal weight. I want to maintain what I have and was wondering if I'm hurting my weightloss by lifting weights.

Keep doing both! Lift heavy with less reps to build muscle and burn fat, and do cardio to increase your calorie burn for the day to cause a bigger calorie deficit which will ultimately be what causes weight loss. Since muscle burns more calories at rest, adding muscle with weight training will increase your overall cal burn throughout the day too! Double win!0

Lifting helps maintain your muscle mass while in a deficit. Lifting weights will also not hurt weight loss.
My advice would be to keep doing both.0 -
Thanks for the reply, think I'll keep doing both.0
