Personally I gained about 8 lbs on it. But I don't think it's the medication so much as the fact that I was producing more milk and therefore SO hungry!

Why are you taking it? That is a pretty high dose compared to the usual gastroparesis dosing of 10 mg 4 times per day.

I was on 80mg for gastroparesis. It could either be that or to help with milk supply. I believe it's used off label for that.

As far as weight goes, OP, if your prolactin levels are high, it may alter how you lose weight so you may need to adjust your calorie goal to compensate for the medication. That said, if you're using it for breastfeeding, you should probably talk with your prescriber and see what they think, since I imagine calorie goals during breastfeeding are different than those who are not.

I am giving myself an extra 300 calories for breastfeeding, If I loose too much or not enough per week doing that I will adjust accordingly. I'm only trying to lose 0.5-1 lb per week so that it doesn't affect breastfeeding (hopefully) . I have just noticed that I am always hungry since starting it. And I lost 4 lbs at first because I was sick but have since gained back the 4 lbs plus 2 lbs when I was eating to hunger (pre MFP - I just joined)
