Single muscle group vs. Alternating muscle group workouts. Which works better for you?

Most workouts in general are focused on one or more muscle groups. But is it better to focus on just one or alternate between them. For example, on a certain day of your routine you work back and biceps. Is it better for you to focus on your back then move to your biceps? Or is it better to alternate?

I am pretty new to this but based on my research and advice from a few personal trainers, it is best to alternate than to just focus on one muscle group0

I like alternative when wrking chest/back and bi/tris... they give sick pumps!! Shoulders (all 3 of heads) wrkd in the same wrkout also gives great results.. my experience0
