Egg Whites

working with my trainer and starting to build my diet around my macros. Realizing I should probably use egg whites to cut down on fats. Any brands of egg whites that you like? Preferably organic and no added ingredients. I live in Northern California- trader joes, Costco,
whole foods, Safeway, raleys are all convenient. Would love your help with the egg white dilemma!

I use the trader joes one sometimes, but really try to avoid them unless I screw up and need more volume to my omelet to cover the veggies than 2 eggs will give me. Instead I add protein to breakfast in other ways, like low fat dairy or sometimes smoked salmon or leftover lean protein from dinner.
Are you maybe cutting fat lower than you need to?
That said, I do think egg whites can be a decent way to add protein; I just personally would not use them to eliminate whole eggs.0 -
Trader Joe's has pretty good egg whites. There is something about the consistency of egg whites that I just don't like. IDK I'm weird haha.0

Egg whites are just about your best protein bang for the caloric and volume buck, right up there with chicken breast. Egg yolks have everything else that is nutritive about eggs, but unfortuantely they make me vomit and have since I was a toddler. The whole "Ask your server about subsitituting EggBeaters or egg whites in your omelette" business has revolutionized my ability to eat breakfast at restaurants.
I'm fine with Egg Beaters or the store-brand equivalent, or the cartons of whites sold next to the Egg Beaters, though. If eggs are on sale enough I'll buy those and just use the whites.
According to the Internet you can also buy them by the gallon. I'm a little scared now. It might be the concept, and it might be the rooster on steroids.0 -
I work in a diner. My usual breakfast is a grilled chicken breast, five eggs (hold the yolk on three) grilled onions and jalapeño in a tortilla.
I can't figure out a way to get more protein for breakfast than that. Lol0 -

I prefer organic as well, but since I eat egg whites every morning, it's just not affordable. I get mine at Costco, and easily go through the 8-pack in 2 weeks. Raley's used to have free range egg whites which were very good - not sure if they still carry them. I'm guessing Trader Joes, Whole Foods, or Sprouts would carry organic - ???0

I can eat 98 grams in a day, but I'm just worried about the polyunsaturated fats that also are in the egg. My thought was that I could do 1 egg and 2 egg whites. I'll have to check Raleys to see if they carry their egg whites. I shop there most often.0

Yep. Trader Joe's carries the cage-free-organic egg whites.0

Correction, I have no idea what I was reading....I can have 53 grams of fat per day.0
