Today marks 3 weeks without any Diet Soda....... I think I am cured! I dont miss it at all. I am still a little shocked myself.

Although I am sure at some point when I go to the movies, I will want a GI-normous tub of popcorn and a mini-keg of Coke Zero!

I have been soda free for a year and a half. It is hard to eat pizza sometimes without a soda but I make due :) Great Job!!
  • That is a milestone! I am proud of you. I kicked the habit (for the most part lol) about 5 months ago. I will occasionally have one - maybe average about two per month. I tell you - I was addicted! I used to drink at least 4-5 a day. I know how hard it is to give them up - so kudos to you!

That is excellent. I am trying to cut back on Diet Dew, but cannot manage to give it up. You give me inspiration. I need to stop the diet soda and do all water, but so far, it's just a cut back. Thanks for the posting!

That's awesome! I'm giving up my beloved Diet Coke as well. I feel way less bloated since I now drink Iced Tea (instead of my ritual Diet Coke).

It has been hard because one of my favorite restaraunts does not serve anything other than soda/beer/water (no iced tea - what's up with that?). So I did order a diet coke last week (out of desperation) - I'm going there today - gonna order water w/ lemon today though! :)

Did any of you notice if you lost an additional weight loss after giving up soda?

that's great! its funny how if you try even a sip after you've quit it just doesn't taste as good as it used to.

I'm at about a month. I will have one now and then (I've literally had 2 in the last month) but for the most part, when I want something with flavor, I add a couple squirts of Mio to my water and I'm good to go. So happy I hopped on the Mio Train!

That is what I need to do. I usually have one diet soda a day. I have not had non-diet soda since 1/17/2011.

Congrats! I stopped drinking soda cold about 3 months ago as well. The harder part of that is, I currently work for a "very large" bottler of the stuff - so I have to see it every day, and most of the time it's free. So you can imagine how much of it I was drinking, lol.

I was stuck at 7 for a while and then when I gave it up, I noticed that my weight loss picked back up.

I'm a Diet Caffeine Free Pepsi girl myself, but it's been rather easy for me.

I would have gone for the beer!! lol :drinker: :drinker:

I did notice a weight loss.... the first week without I had a 3 lb loss...... its leveled back to a normal 1-2 lb a week now, but I feel way better! Not as bloated and my head feels "clearer".

Even though I love water, I may have to try the Mio

    Trust me, I'm tempted to have a beer @ lunch, but that's a no-no where I work. :)

I'll be interested to see how I progress over the next month.

Keep it up on the no-diet-soda-quest! :)

For the movies, my wife has a fairly large purse, so when we go we just put a bottle of water or two in there, along some snacks (fruit, trail-mix, granola bars outside of crunchy wrapers and inside snack bags). That keeps us healthy and happy through the movie.
