I am iced in today. I am trying to put together some type of workout plan for this evening. Other than pushups and situps, and good suggestions when you can't get out but don't want to miss out on a workout? I have no resistance or cardio equipment at home.

Pintrest has some really great workouts. I use them when I travel and most you don't need a lot of space and you can use your own body weight.0

Stairs. Easy cardio.0

The next time you aren't housebound, pick up a resistance band. My experience is that physiotherapists give these away like candy

This was my thought, too! I had to give my neighbor a bad time yesterday. He and I go to the same gym. We also got buried in snow over the weekend. He fired up his snow blower, cleared his drive-ways and side walk and then went to the gym. I told him if he had shoveled by hand that could've been his workout! Then again, I'm not one to talk: my husband shoveled the snow and I went to the gym (where I ran into my neighbor).0 -
In Texas...?
Calisthenics!: push-ups (and any alterations to them), sit-ups, planks, leg lifts, calf raises, jumping jacks, squats, lunges, burpees...
& as others have mentioned, that shovel!0 -
Shoveling snow is an awesome burn just remember to drink water you will sweat a lot more than you realize.
Also, google tabata and enjoy!0 -
Check out the app Sworkit. All body weight/calisthenics exercises. I love it.

This site has some amazing Bodyweight work outs that I usually do when I am not feeling the gym. Usually gets my blood pumping if I go as fast as possible through the moves with only a break between sets.0 -
If you have cable TV, there are plenty of good exercise videos on there. I like to do the cardio walking video.0

Last time I shoveled snow, I weighed myself before & after & lost a pound.
(Yeah, I know it's sweat. But I still liked seeing it on the scale.)
Here's an article showing a bodyweight workout that takes 7 minutes. Repeat to fill the time available. It also links to the actual study published by the American College of Sports Medicine. (So this isn't just something a random anonymous internet person came up with; there's some science behind it.)

You can find Youtubes of Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, all 3 levels. I think that's my plan for today....0

Great suggestions everyone. Yes, here in texas we get the ice, so no snow to shovel.

This! I burned 900 calories on Saturday by shoveling snow for 2 hours. I skipped my evening workout after that...0 -
