Macro ratios?

Having tracked my nutritional info for a few weeks, I've tweaked my macros to accommodate my high-fat diet and take in fewer carbs. But I cannot--CANNOT-- meet my protein requirement! It's 30%, which amounts to a bit less than 1g/lb of body weight and I. Can't. Get there! Anyone have recommendations for more protein besides protein powder or daily steaks? Or should I just lower the protein requirement a bit and stop worrying about it. (For exercise I generally do HIIT and some version of progressive weight lifting, hoping to maintain my muscle while I lose.)

You don't need 1 gram of protein per Lb of body weight...1 gram per Lb of LBM is optimal; anything more is overkill. Personally I just try to get around 0.8 to 1 gram per Lb of LBM and call it good.

Yeah, my goal isn't actually set to a whole 1g/lb, but I think it is a bit more than 80% of my bodyweight (an approximation of LBM I just read on another thread). Maybe I can lower the number a bit then (because I'm apparently OCD enough that I like to make the numbers match... :p ).

The problem is that I try to ration our meat (mostly for dinners because it is expensive) and most other protein sources come with a hefty fat contribution. I'm not afraid of fat (it makes up about 50% of what I eat on any given day) but it does tend to throw my ratios out of whack. I'll tweak some things and play with it till I find a balance I like.

Yeah, thanks! The lentils caught my eye, actually. I'll have to pick some up and find a few recipes. I think my toddler would enjoy them too. :)
