My favorite are the Pure Protein bars. Only 2/3g of sugar, so they're not too sweet. Pretty filling as well...I eat them as a meal if I'm super busy.

My favorite is the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough one :)

Think Thin bars are pretty good. They were my preferred bar for awhile, but they're about 240 calories for 20g of protein, so they're a bit higher in calories than some of the other popular bars out there. I personally don't care much for Quest bars, although they are very well-liked by a lot of people. My current favorite brand is Pure Protein. Most of the flavors taste pretty good, and I can get 20g of protein for 180-200 calories (I prefer the chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter, salted caramel peanut, or the chocolate deluxe flavors).

I like them because I can get my chocolate fix in the middle of the day while also working toward hitting my protein goal. Definitely not necessary by any means, but for me (and as a vegetarian), it's a very convenient snack that tends to fit my macros. :)

I like Luna bars. I work 2 jobs; one overnight. I eat a Luna bar around 1a.m. otherwise I wouldn't make it until breakfast!

For me, Quest bars because of the protein to calorie ratio.

I used to eat (read: choke down) Quest bars, as they were the closest to a half-decent tasting bar that I'd tried; I find that they do, however, have a god-awful and telltale 'artificial sweetener' aftertaste to them. However, after trying a MusclePharm Combat Crunch bar at the local Popeye's Supplements (they were offering free trials), I got hooked instantly. Won't be going back to anything else.

Usually Clif, but occasionally others if they are on sale and I want to try them.

I only eat protein bars once or twice per week. I used to scoff at protein bars also, but I am very busy and they are convenient. As for convenience food, it has more protein and nutrients than a chocolate bar... so if it is a choice of Hershey's or Clif, I choose Clif.

My favorite flavor, by the way, is Apple Pear Strudel. Too bad it is only a seasonal flavor because it's delicious.

Quest bars. Lots of protein and fiber, no gluten (I have celiac disease), and a few flavors that I really like a lot. I'm a vegetarian, and they're great for supplementing my protein intake.

Can anyone suggest a low calorie, high protein bar? Or a recipe for one?

I find Quest bars terrible. I don't eat protein bars any more because I get plenty of protein in my regular diet. I use Kind bars as a pick me up or to tide me over if I can't get to a meel right away.
