Non-scale victory. Like going down a pant size, fitting into a shirt that never used to fit you, someone telling you you've lost weight, etc.

    Welcome to MFP :)
  • Oh, I love that. That is awesome....thanks so much. Kinda like not eating a whole bag of Doritos right?? lol

    Non-scale victory.

Something you achieve that isn't related to the scale at all. For example, being able to squat 100 pounds could be a NSV if your previous best was 90 pounds.
  • Thanks so much........I love this.

You will find that sometimes the scale does not tell you that you are being successful. That's when you try on clothes, get out the tape measure or look at your exercise logs. You are right...thinking about but not eating that bag of Doritos and then NOT eating them is a huge NSV. Don't rely just on the scale look for other victories.
  • Thank you so much for that Snip8241. I tend to be a numbers person so I will try other ways to measure my successes. Then I will reward myself with a manicure rather than the rest of the Doritoes....

I love this! Too early in my journey to have a lot of NSV's yet, but I'll be on the look out and can't wait to meet them!
  • Me too. I am so excited.
