Started my fitness pal months ago...I'm very strict but no weight loss. I've been type 1 diabetic for 28 years... Anyone else out there in same boat as me...one that's sinking!

Have you heard of symlin?! Its an added injection for type 1 diabetics! I'm on it, its amazing! Look into it! It makes u feel full and lowers the amount of insulin you need! People have lost weight on it alone!0

Do you have a thyroid function test done regularly? My daughter is t1 and we are currently awaiting test results as suspect there is a thyroid problem now, it can be quite common in t1 diabetics and would make weight loss difficult even if you're being strict with your diet.0

I also have been Type 1 for 28 years. Over those years my weight slowly went up and up. It was maybe a little differnt than most as I was considered late onset type 1 at the ripe old age of 38, no family history and only weighted about 125 lbs. at the time. It doesn't really matter now. All I know is that I am retiring in a few months and I want to get physically fit and lose weight in the process so I can enjoy my retirement.
I have tried other weight loss programs before but think I gave up to easy. I'm hoping this app will help me stay more focused.0 -
I was in that boat for a long time. I did everything right. Diet, exercise, couting calories. You name it, i tried it. I needed something to kick start the weight loss so went to my diabetic specialist and got a prescription for phentermiene with no dosage increase and I haven't had any problem since. That was 2 years ago. I lost weight and have kept it of. It's not for everyone but it worked for me. You just have to commit to a lifestyle change or you'll gain all the weight back.0
