A year ago I had twins. I gained 60 pounds with them. It took five months to lose the extra weight. Since November I have been working out almost daily. I had been focusing on mostly cardio to help with losing the extra day. The past few months I've tried to do more resistance and weight training. It's hard because I don't have access to a gym. Only a 25 pound free weight and two 20 pound babies. I have no clue what I weigh now, but last time I checked a few months ago I waa 115. The past month I've been looking more and more evacuated. I began tracking my intake of food. I average about 1300 calories, 120 carbs, and 40 grams protein. It's hard to keep that up since I don't eat meat. I can see almost every bone in my back and my ribs but I can't lose my attach no matter how much I train it. Is there something I can do? I eat very clean and use soy and eggs as main sources of protein and workout about a half hour to an hour 5 times a week.

You need to eat food! You need to keep you healthy, so you can take care of your bundles. Cheese, Greek yogurt, eggs, nuts, beans, fish.0

You can do body weight workouts that build muscle, you don't need to go anywhere. Here is one someone recommended the other day:

I go through a big thing of Greek yogurt in a few days and I eat eggs with most everything. Beans I eat in moderation and I love nut butters of any kind so I'm already doing that0 -

No meat at all. It makes me feel sick. And quest bars are so good but they get so pricey after you get a few0 -
what are your stats…age/weight/height/gender?

I'd recommend that you increase your calories and use them to double your protein portions. Do you like cottage cheese? I used to eat buckets of it because I'm not a huge meat eater. Same with milk, cheese, and any other dairy.
Have you looked into body weight programs like You Are Your Own Gym or Convict Conditioning? It won't be as easy to build muscle with those as it is with weights (and it isn't easy regardless) but as long as you're progressing with it according to the program schedule it'll be better than nothing.0 -
if you have 25# dumbbells then you could put together a total body workout that hits chest/arms/legs/shoulders/back….three sets of 8-10 reps each…

you can make your own protein bars, there are all types of recipes on the net and they would probably be better for you than store bought.0

Go to the doctors. You need to take care of yourself to take care of your babies! I would guess you need to eat more lugging those babies around and working out like that.0

I've heard bad about dairy! I've been somewhat dairy free for a while and it's resolved a little bit of stomach issues to be honest. Maybe I'll get back onto the cottage cheese train. I used to eat it a lot0 -

You'll hear bad things about everything. There's actually a study about I read recently:

Although it sounds like you may have a touch of lactose intolerance, in which case you can look into getting more plant based protein but it will be much harder. I'll bet the Happy Herbivores group could help you.

At 115lbs and 5'5, your bmi is 19.1. You are on the lower end of healthy. Raise your calorie intake and switch to lifting/body weight. You don't really need to lose anymore weight.

I am guessing that when you typed "I can't lose my attach", "attach" = "stomach"... You had twins a year ago. If 115 is a natural weight for you, I am guessing you were fairly small/slim before you got pregnant. Chances are what you think is stomach fat is just "twin skin"...your abdomen was stretched out carrying two babies inside. You are young, and much of that should bounce back eventually. The other possibility (an one that is not unlikely since you carried twins) is diastasis recti...a separation of the abdominal muscles which is common following pregnancy, especially in moms of multiples.
http://www.dailyhiit.com/hiit-blog/hiit-life/pregnancy-motherhood/diastasis-recti-properly-train-strengthen-core-flat-abs/
disclaimer...I didn't read all of the link above...while it will give you some idea of the causes and symptoms of diastasis, I cannot vouch for the effectiveness of the exercises it suggests.0 -
i would say add 100 calories a week until you start gaining .5 pounds per week.
also, there are no 'bad' or 'good' foods. Food is just energy that we use to fuel our bodies and complete bodily functions. Make sure you hit your macro/micro/calorie goal for the day and your ill be fine. So yes, this means that you can eat some cookies, ice cream, pasta, bagels, etc; just in mix that in with an overall diet of chicken, rice, vegetable, fish, etc and you will be fine.
why don't you have access to a gym? Eventually you are going to out grow the dumbbells and either need a home gym or will need to belong to a gym….0 -
Also wanted to add that 1300 calories a day probably is not enough for a busy mom of twins (I assume you aren't breastfeeding...in which case you would be way under needed calories).
And you should definitely look into bodyweight training programs...you will even find some you can do with your babies. And if your neighborhood offers any sort of "Strollerfit" type classes, and you can fit them into your schedule, they can also be beneficial...plus you'll meet other moms in your area.0 -
