Struggling!

Hi
I've lost weight using MFP before but I'm trying to lose another 15lbs to get to my target and I'm struggling! I started on 1200 calories as I did before but I'm finding it difficult to keep to that target so I've upped my intake to 1600. I lost 7lbs in the first week incidentally but put on 4lbs since! I've still lost 3lbs so that's a positive I guess but I'm very impatient and a bit obsessed with the speed, or lack of it, that I'm losing weight.

You probably should be at more than 1200, but just curious, did you decide on 1600 calories on your own or were they calculated by MFP? The loss of 7lbs that quickly would have really been water weight, so don't worry too much about it fluctuating up and down like that, it's normal. Make sure you are eating the right amount based on your stats, log, weigh your food and measure your liquids, and be consistent.0

I totally understand the struggle with "take it off right now!" The thing to keep in mind is you want to be able to maintain your weight once you get to where you want to be. It's a marathon not a sprint! I remind myself of that daily0

Thanks for your replies guys. I went for the max weight loss MFP suggested, 2lbs a week at first, but after a hungry week, changed it to 1lb a week, hence the adjustment to 1600 calories as I just couldn't stick to 1200. You are right though, and I foolishly didn't consider it, that my first 7lb loss was mostly water! It is a marathon not a sprint I will tell myself! But if a control freak so that's hard!! Also, need to measure food instead of gestimating!0
