I have noticed that some users can generate multiple serving sizes when they add an item. How is this done?

Tap or click on the blue number. This should bring up another window, tap or click on the number again and the keyboard pops up and you change it to the desired amount. Hope that's helpful. Cheers!

Sorry, can't find this mysterious blue number. Can you be more specific.

A user can enter only one type of measurement unit, such as ounce, pound, gram, tbsp., tsp., cup, etc. when creating a food item. If the created serving size is greater than 1, such as 4 ounces for example, the software will automatically divide the user-entered value of 4 ounces and display an additional serving size option of 1 ounce after the food item is saved.

The food items with multiple servings sizes are generally added my MFP staff that have database administration privileges; and those food items are displayed without an asterisk on the Web version.

Thanks for the reply. Let me rephrase the question. Why are some items displayed without an asterisk but have "Edit" buttons? Please check out the following as examples; Flour, All Purpose, Enriched, Bleached - Gold Medal, Bertolli Extra Virgin Oll - Olive Oil (Per Label), Vegetables - Broccoli Cuts, Frozen.

Since you are seeing an Edit button, I assume you are searching for food items using the FOOD > Database search function. When you search for these items, the foods that you have added to your My Foods list, or those Food Database items that you have edited, will appear without an asterisk. So the plausible reason that the specific items you listed display without an asterisk for you (they do not display without an asterisk for me) are that you have edited those items and you are now the temporary "owner" of those public items. Those items will remain in your My Foods list until another MFP user edits them and they then are removed from your My Foods list and show up on the other MFP user's My Foods list.

A possible explanation for multiple serving sizes for user-entered food items may be that sometimes, if a user edits a public food item and changes the Serving Size or Servings per Container, the old serving sizes may be retained in the food item tables and are displayed along side the newer serving sizes and servings per container.

I am just an MFP end user and really can only speculate on what you are seeing and can only postulate what may or may not be happening on the back end of the Food Database.
