21 Day Fix

A good friend of mine recently purchased the 21 day fix. After one week on it she has already lost 3.7 lbs. In reviewing the material it looks like this is based on calorie counting without the actual calorie counting. She has quite a bit more to lose and has not been active or trying to eat healthy. I am a bit discouraged at her first week weight loss versus my lack of weight loss. Has anyone tried this with success?

the 3.7 pounds is probably water weight/glycogen ….when you start dieting you usually immediately lose that first, which is why all the "weight loss programs" like nutrisystem "guarantee" that you will lose five pounds in the first weeks. It is more than likely not fat.
why buy some product when you can use MFP for free?
there is no quick fix. Weight loss take a long time, just like weight gain takes a long time.
Put your stats in MFP, set for one pound week loss, get a food scale, weigh/log/measure everything you eat…
all 21 day fix is is an expensive option to do the same and then they just try to slam you with BS broscience advertisements for more products…

I bought the 21 Day Fix. I paid around $80 for a bunch of tiny colored plastic tupperware. Basically, you get a daily allowance of containers: 2 red, 4 green, etc., etc.
It says no calorie counting but I found I needed to plan even more for the 21 Day Fix than I do for just calorie counting. With 21DF, I had to plan what I wanted to eat and make sure it had 1 yellow container, 1 blue container, 1 purple, and the like out of my daily containers.
I lost like 9 pounds in three weeks. And gained them all back when I started to eat a less restricted diet. I also think the calories of the 21DF ended up being really low. I think most of it was water weight anyway.
Um, now I just measure food and log it. Easy, free, no annoying color-related formulas.
I sold my set on eBay. Got like $70, hooray. Weight loss is slower but more sustainable. Plus, I hated dealing with the color coding everything. Some people love it, I'm going to save my money.
Thankfully, I never fell for the Shakeology.
