    Four Focused Swim Workouts

    100 Swimming Workouts

Modify them according to what fits your goals and ability to do butterfly ;) . (like I would never do "2-turn 50s", which the 100SW people really love. I don't need perfect flipturns.)

I swim about the same amount as you, and currently trying to ramp it up in prep for a swimathon in April. Personally, I love to mix up my lengths a lot. I'll do one breast, one front, then breast arms only, then only flutter kick, only front arms, back crawl, only arms, only legs, etc. If I'm doing full strokes, I'll also do 3 lengths at a moderate speed, and then one as fast as I can. Then a resting stroke for a couple lengths.

I just like to keep it mixed up, and go with how I'm feeling. If I'm more tired, I might do more legs only lengths (for me, they tend to be slower and less energy consuming), but if I'm feeling more peppy, I'll keep it to mostly full strokes and really fast lengths with just arms (breaststroke arms only for 2+ lengths is a great upper body workout!). I don't plan things ahead of time because I like to go with the flow and if I'm always worrying about what I'm doing next, I get distracted and can't focus the way I like to.

Try adding some back crawl in to see how you like it as that alone might help keep things fresh. :)
