I started running a while ago but because of my weight, my knees began hurting and I had to stop. I've been thinking about swimming as a substitute (my local Y has an indoor pool). Does anyone have an recommendations for swimming workout routines for a beginner to swimming as a workout?

Thanks!

Check out if your Y has any water aerobics class - those can be a fun low-impact way to shake up your exercise. :)

I just started looking at this site and was hoping to build something from it - not sure how great it is, but it's a start. :) They also have some stuff on improving your technique.

Good luck! Your little baby is adorable, btw. :)

Ive been walking for a little over 2 months. If I jog even a little it hurts my knees. But brisk walking has been a great alternative. With calorie counting and walking 2 miles a day minimum Ive lost about 45 pounds. To be fair I was hospitalized in December and went from no food to liquid to bland and just kept it simple from there. That jump start helped but its the daily walking that is doing it for me.
