Why am I getting sick hours after exercise?

I have been an athlete my whole life, but the past year I have done little to no exercise and my diet wasn't a healthy one. I recently started working out and eating healthy again, but about an hour or two after a workout I start to get very nauseous and most of the time end up throwing up. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I'm actually quite concerned and any input would be appreciated!

Well your probably just not used to it, not working out for a long time could do this, even if you were very athletic or not at some point. Just don't push yourself too hard, in the beggining its always harder, slowly work your way up to higher intensities and goals, don't rush into things because this will only strain your body and stress you out. Also, I know you might already know this but, drink water! Do not forget to drink water, that could be another reason, dehydration. Anyways, be careful and gook luck !!!0

I've started to feel the same way, every time I exercise this week. But, I haven't changed anything from the last 6-8 weeks previously. It's so weird, I workout, feel just fine, come home and have lunch about an hour later. Almost immediately after having lunch I feel nauseous and end up throwing up. This is sooooo unusual for me. Did you find any answers to your situation @amarc12 ?0

There's a few gastrointestinal issues that can do that (some mild, some serious), so you might need to see a GI specialist to get it sorted out. But i'd start with a general physician or internist. If you have a choice, i'd see the latter.
Just curious - have you lost weight recently, and if so, how fast?

@Cherimoose , yes I've been losing weight, not super fast though. Slow and steady, about 2 lbs a week since March 1. That's when I also started working out, too. I've been just fine up until this week, which is why I have no idea what's going on with me.0
