Who snowshoes and which ones do you prefer?

I have a pair of snowshoes from Costco. I enjoyed my time today outside but they do seem to be a bit noisy, especially if I keep in the middle of a packed trail. Quieter if I go on fresh snow.

I prefer Atlas snowshoes. I had a pair of Tubbs and they were very awkward. I also had powder ridge but they snapped in half due to the cold weather. I am in Canada.0

I have MSR snow shoes. The best I've seen on the market for all sorts of terrain and snow quality. They are made in Ireland.

Those are a thing? Never seen them in real life. I live in Southern California.0

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. And yep amberj32, snowshoes exist lol. I would say you don't know what you're missing but up here we're really missing the kind of warmth you have even though my snow hikes have been beautiful.0

I have read that wooden snowshoes are the best but I'm still doing research before making any final decisions. Supposedly, if you buy a quality wooden pair, they will outlast you and you can pass them on to the next generation. Additionally, they're supposedly really quiet as well. Also, the wooden ones look good hung up on a wall when not in use.0

Thanks Alaskanveteran. I think I need to get the quieter wooden ones.0
